The Tongan village of 'Utungake suffers an extremely high rate of unemployment, especially amongst women, because there is no convenient option for early childcare. As a Hope Corps volunteer, you will help build a functioning preschool in the community that will provide access to education for young children and will employ local women as teachers and caretakers.

Hope Corps has partnered with Equilibrium to improve the educational experience for students at Sabalo School by helping to re-build their current one and only classrom, as well as new restrooms, in a way that maximizes sustainable building principles. Hope Corps volunteers will help to create a quality learning space for these deserving students as well as immerse themselves in the culture and community of Sabalo.

The mountain community of Tolka wants to expand it's footprint to accommodate the growing student body. The expansion project will include a new 3-room building with a classroom, library, and fully-equipped computer lab.
